Literacy Committee

The Literacy Committee's goal is to encourage students and family members to enjoy reading throughout the year. Highlights of the committee's programming are the Scholastic Book Fair in the fall and Family Reading Night in the spring.

Family Reading Night
Thursday, March 1, 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

Kids (and kids at heart!)--wear your pajamas and bring your pillows and blankets while you get cozy and listen to books read by the wonderful staff of PRES. We will start with snacks and a story read by our wonderful administration in the cafeteria. Afterwards, while the teachers are reading to the kids, Jean Boone, a Children's Instructor & Research Specialist from the Howard County Library System, will be on hand to sign up for library cards, Homework Help, electronic sources, etc. Bring your Howard County Library card in case the remote checkout system is available and you may be able to check out some books.

In conjunction with the Community Service Book Drive and Food on the 15th, there will be collection bins at this event for non-perishable food donations and marked boxes for book donations.
